Congratulations of SPbPU Rector Andrei Rudskoi on Victory Day
Dear polytechnics, please accept my sincere congratulations on the Great Victory Day! This day will forever remain a symbol of the indomitable strength of spirit of our people, their courage and heroism.

It has been 80 years since the document on the complete surrender of Nazi Germany was signed. We are eternally grateful to those who did not spare themselves in the battles, who put an end to the war and gave us peace.
The history of our university is inextricably linked with the history of the Great Patriotic War. Our teachers and students wrote heroic pages in the annals of Victory. They fought at the front and in the rear, survived the terrible years of war, many gave their lives for the Motherland. Today we proudly keep the memory of polytechnics, whose feat serves as an example of true patriotism and selflessness for all of us.
To worthily celebrate the Victory anniversary, our university has organized many interesting events. The student video blog «The Memory of Glory is Alive» shows Polytechnic’s places associated with the Great Patriotic War. The project «The Institute that survived the war» is dedicated to the memory of Polytechnic students who went through the war and siege. Eight street bollards installed in the park tell about the life of the university and its students during the war.
Other events include the «Family Victory Day» holiday, the «Immortal Regiment» campaign in a new format, the theatrical production «Engineers of Victory» in the White Hall, the exhibition «Path to Victory», a rally at the Monument to fallen polytechnics, military-patriotic rally «Syandeba», search «Memory Watch». And, of course, we laid flowers at the mass grave of polytechnics in Piskarevskoye cemetery as a sign of deepest respect and gratitude.
We honor the memory of war heroes: those who fought at the front, who worked on the home front, who contributed to the victory with their inventions and discoveries. We are proud of their exploits and thank them for everything they did for us and our country. Preserving the legacy and memory of the victorious heroes is our duty to future generations.
I wish all of us good health and prosperity. May peace and happiness always reign in your homes. Happy Great Victory Day!
