Internship of KRSU professors at SPbPU

24 April 2025 214

Within the framework of cooperation between the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, an educational internship for the heads of educational programs of KRSU was held. The main goal was to study modern approaches to the design of educational programs, introduction of innovative teaching methods and development of partnerships with industrial enterprises.

Internship participants from KRSU in SPbPU

The internship participants held a series of working meetings with the staff of the Directorate of Basic Educational Programs of SPbPU, where they discussed current trends in higher education, the features of new educational standards development and the model of multi-track engineering training. The issues of networking in the implementation of educational programs and organization of students’ project activities aroused special interest.

A significant part of the program was devoted to acquaintance with the advanced infrastructure of SPbPU. KRSU teachers visited the laboratories of the Institute of Physics and Mathematics, where Acting Director Nikolay Ivanov showed them unique equipment: wind tunnels, installations for studying hydrodynamic processes and modern research stands. At the Institute of Civil Engineering, the participants familiarized themselves with the laboratories of additive technologies in construction and road-building materials, as well as with the innovative MetaCampus Polytechnic educational space.

Final certification and project defense

An important component of the internship was participation in the Youth Career Forum, where KRSU faculty members were able to learn effective mechanisms of interaction between the university and potential employers. The participants immersed themselves in the working atmosphere and pumped up their supra-professional competencies. This experience is especially valuable for the development of the graduate employment system in Kyrgyzstan.

The final stage was the final certification, where colleagues from KRSU presented the developed educational programs, highlighting their competitive advantages, listing the industrial partners involved and describing the employment prospects of graduates. The defense was held in the presence of Vadim Smirnov, a referent of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, Sergey Volkov, acting rector of KRSU, representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Ludmila Pankova, vice-rector for academic affairs of SPbPU, and Dmitry Arseniev, vice-rector for international affairs.

Ludmila Pankova noted: “The implemented approach to the public presentation of the educational program allows to look at it more comprehensively, to assess the competitive advantages of the program in the context of the challenges of the modern labor market, to analyze the resource capabilities of the university for the training of in-demand specialists.”

The internship significantly deepened the Russian-Kyrgyz cooperation in the field of engineering education, providing KRSU teachers with valuable experience that will contribute to the modernization of educational programs and introduction of best practices in the educational process of the university. The acquired knowledge and contacts open new perspectives for the development of academic mobility and joint educational projects between the two universities.
