We have collected up-to-date information for SPbPU students about the ways in which money can be transferred to Russia from abroad, how to issue an MIR card and how to pay tuition fees.

Question: How can I receive money transfer from my parents from abroad?Which bank and which card can I use to receive money from my parents from another country
Variant 1: Open a foreign currency bank account
Polytechnic University students can:
- Open a foreign currency account with banks in St. Petersburg that are not under sanctions and are not disconnected from SWIFT, for example, Bank St. Petersburg (but not in Sberbank, which has closed its correspondent accounts in dollars from March 26, 2022).
- Send your bank account details to your parents/relatives who are abroad and will be able to transfer funds using the details. Transfers in any currency can be sent from any country.

- the student receives the money (only in rubles!!!) In connection with the instructions of the Bank of Russia of March 11, 2022, when making cross-border transfers from any country to Russia in a foreign currency, the money to the recipient on the territory of Russia will be given only in RF rubles.
Attention! The bank fee is calculated individually and may depend on the country and transfer amount — please check with your bank for details.
To submit to the bank to open a foreign currency account you can take a certificate confirming that you are a student (postgraduate student) of SPbPU at:
- room 206 for students
- room 204 for postgraduate students.
Variant 2: Electronic money transfer systems

- MoneyGram actively operates in almost all countries of the world and has a large network of offices. Since 2021, receiving cash transfers in Russia is available only in the offices of partner banks of the Zolotaya Corona payment system.

Question: How can I get a MIR card?
Mail a copy of your passport to usp@spbstu.ru (foreign students also need a translation of their passport). The University will then issue you a card.
Question: How can I get an MIR card if I am studying on a contract at SPbPU?
Students of SPbPU of any form of training can get a MIR card from Sberbank, for this you need to send a copy of your passport to usp@spbstu.ru (foreign students also need a translation of their passport). After that, the University will issue you a card.
Open a UnionPay International (China) card and give the details for transfer to your relatives.
Attention! The bank fee to open a card is calculated individually — please check with your bank for details.
Question: How and where can I pay for my studies in Russia with a card?
As of 11.03.22 in Russia, payment can be made by any card issued by a Russian bank or using a card of the UnionPay payment system.
Question: Can I pay for my studies through the University website? If yes, what card can I use?
Payment through the site works as usual.

Question: Can my parents from another country pay for my education? If yes, how?
Yes, if this is stipulated in the contract (the payer must be specified in the contract as the party paying for the educational services). Payment can be made on the basis of the invoice in rubles or foreign currency.
When transferring funds to PAO Bank Saint-Petersburg in USD or EURO, it is preferable to use:
