First Vice-Rector of SPbPU and a Representative of the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship of the State Duma Discussed the Methods of Governmental Support

The challenge of innovative development of Russian economy determines the necessity to study systematically, summarize and critically analyze the existing methods and mechanisms of governmental support for innovative entrepreneurship, which, in its turn, determines the urgent character of the meeting’s agenda. V.V. Glukhov emphasized that in modern economy innovations play the most important role, as competitiveness of an enterprise, an industry and a state as a whole directly depends on their innovative activities. At the same time innovative entrepreneurship cannot develop at full pace due to the absence of the necessary legislation.

During the meeting the colleagues discussed methodological approaches to forming and developing the mechanisms of governmental regulation and support of innovative entrepreneurship in modern Russian economy. The results of the discussion are to become part of another joint publication. The Polytechnic University and the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship of the State Duma have already initiated several publications concerning the mechanisms of governmental support for innovative entrepreneurship. The unanimous opinion of the colleagues is that these publications help to make a certain contribution to the theory of innovation management and investment activity. Their practical value is determined by the fact that these publications are used when preparing legislative acts, teaching and learning materials while forming and developing the methods and mechanisms of state regulation and support of innovative entrepreneurship.
