Almazov Center joins the Russian-African Network University consortium

On May 15, the Russian-African Network University consortium, coordinated by Polytechnic University, was joined by the Almazov National Medical Research Center of the Russian Ministry of Health. The agreement was signed at the 7th Medical Innovation Forum, which was held from 14 to 16 May at the Almazov Center.

RAFU activities are aimed at developing voluntary equal partnership between Russian and African universities and scientific organizations in the field of higher education, lifelong learning and research. The document was signed by Rector of SPbPU Andrei Rudskoi and Director General of the Almazov NMRC Evgeny Shlyakhto.

The current signing of the agreement is very important. In addition to industrial, industrial, cultural development and exchange between our countries, health care plays a crucial role, especially for Africa. Each involvement of potential, knowledge in education, training of national personnel, especially in the field of medicine, prevention, health care, is momentous, — emphasized Andrei Rudskoi.

Andrei Rudskoi also spoke about the implementation of the RAFU Summer Multidisciplinary University, consisting of short-term advanced training programs implemented by Russian universities for African citizens.

I am sure that within the framework of RAFU we will be able to offer such educational programs to our colleagues from Africa, which will really improve the situation in education, research and medical care, — said Evgeny Shlyakhto.

The Medical Innovation Forum has been held for the seventh time

The Medical Innovation Forum has been held for the seventh time and over the years has become one of the most significant events in the field of medicine not only in St. Petersburg, but also in the whole of Russia. Since this year, the recently established St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences has become the organizer of the forum.

The scientific program is extensive: lectures, plenary sessions, scientific symposia, training seminars, clinical reviews, electronic reports, schools for practicing physicians. Andrei Rudskoi, Rector of SPbPU, took part in the plenary session.

St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences has become the organizer of the forum

The theme of the event covers many topical areas of modern medicine. These include cardiology, oncology, infectious diseases, rare genetic diseases, topical issues of pediatrics, and many others. SPbPU employees, including young scientists, take part in the forum.
