Delegation from Jiangsu Normal University visited SPbPU
St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) and Jiangsu Normal University (JSNU) continue to strengthen the strategic partnership launched in 2015.
Polytechnic was visited by a representative delegation from China, including Dong Xiaochen, Vice-Rector of Jiangsu Normal University, Yin Yanping, Secretary of SPbPU- JSNU Joint Engineering Institute, Duan Na, Director of the Electrical Institute of JSNU, and Wang Li, Deputy Director of the Joint Engineering Institute.

Over the years of cooperation, the SPbPU- JSNU Joint Engineering Institute, which opened in 2016, has trained more than 1,000 graduates in electronics, mechanical engineering, info-communication technologies and communication systems. Annual enrollment is 200-250 students, and the total number of students exceeds 2000. In the Russian Language Center on the basis of the JSNU Chinese students are jointly taught the Russian language by teachers of our universities.
At the meeting of university representatives, plans to expand cooperation were discussed. SPbPU proposed to include new areas: artificial intelligence, digital technologies in construction, intelligent production process control systems, energy, including nuclear and digital energy, where the university has unique experience.
The key challenge remains the level of Russian language proficiency among Chinese students. To achieve this goal, it is planned to strengthen knowledge control by sending more SPbPU professors to China to conduct classes and certification.
Dong Xiaochen, Vice-Rector of Jiangsu Normal University, said: As part of the development of our long-term partnership, we are striving to optimize educational programs to meet modern standards and requirements. Special attention is paid to strengthening the language base: we propose to gradually improve the level of Russian language proficiency by involving SPbPU experts in the certification of students.

The parties agreed to expand directions and implement new educational models. Vice-Rector Dmitry Arseniev noted, We were the first to create such an institute, and we are confident that we will remain leaders in international educational partnership. Our task is to maintain the quality of training, relying on the unique competencies of our universities
.
The development of the Joint Engineering Institute opens up new opportunities for strategic partnership in the field of high technologies, combining advanced educational methods and research potential.
