SPbPU at the meeting of members of the Council of the Consortium of Ambassadors of Russian Education and Science
Within the framework of the event organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, a meeting of the members of the Council of the Consortium of Educational and Scientific Organizations for the implementation of the program «Ambassadors of Russian Education and Science» took place. The meeting was held at the Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia and brought together representatives of various ministries, departments and universities.

Polytechnic University was represented by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Dmitry Arseniev, Assistant Vice-Rector Pavel Nedelko, and Ambassadors of Russian education of SPbPU Al-Jundi Waddah Muhammad (Syrian Arab Republic) and Honorary Consul General of Russia in the city of Agadir (Morocco) Abid Abdellatif.
The meeting discussed issues related to the promotion of Russian education and science in the international arena. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and other structures made reports on their work and opportunities for participation of Ambassadors of Russian education and science in various projects and initiatives.
Special attention was paid to the necessity of systematization of informing the Ambassadors about the events held in Russia and abroad to promote Russian education and science. RUDN undertook the task of organizing regular sending of information to the Ambassadors to ensure their participation in the relevant events.
Al-Jundi Waddah Muhammad delivered a face-to-face report, in which he voiced proposals for improving interaction between the Ambassadors of Russian education and science and concretized measures to promote Russian education and science abroad. In particular, he came up with an initiative to create a series of films about the history of education in the USSR and the Russian Federation and about famous foreign graduates of Russian universities, as well as proposed to create a website of the Ambassadors of Russian education and science. Mr. Al-Jundi stressed the importance of opening Russian language centers abroad, the need for interaction with business and cultural dialogue between countries.

As a result of the meeting it was decided to continue such events to discuss plans and initiatives related to the promotion of Russian education and science at the international level. This will allow the Ambassadors of Russian education and science to more actively participate in the implementation of various projects and strengthen Russia’s position in the field of education and science abroad.
Ambassadors of Russian education are the key conductors of Russia’s knowledge and interests. The systematic work we are doing will not only allow us to expand the presence of Russian educational projects, but also to strengthen long-term cooperation with foreign countries,
