Union of Knowledge. The visit of the SPbPU delegation to Armenia became a new stage of cooperation
On October 24, a delegation of SPbPU headed by Rector of the university, Academician of the RAS Andrei Rudskoi visited the Republic of Armenia. The key moments were meetings at the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and Russian-Armenian University.

SPbPU and NAS RA signed an agreement The delegation of Polytechnic University visited the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA). The history of scientific and educational cooperation between Armenia and St. Petersburg goes back several centuries.
The visit began with a meeting between Andrei Rudskoi and the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, Academician Ashot Saghyan, as well as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin. The participants discussed the current cooperation between the academic institutions of Armenia and the St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as priority areas of interest to both sides. They also discussed possible options for future cooperation between the scientific institutes of St. Petersburg and Armenia.
Continuing the traditions of such cooperation, the St. Petersburg Branch of the RAS and NAS RA, as well as SPbPU and NAS RA signed an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation. The agreement covers a wide range of areas, including natural, mathematical and technical sciences, as well as life sciences.

Special attention will be paid to agro-biotechnology and agricultural sciences, astrophysics, physical and chemical research. Joint projects in social, humanities and applied sciences are also planned, which will contribute to strengthening scientific ties and technological development between the countries.
During the visit, the representatives of SPbPU visited the Russian-Armenian University (RAU), with which the university has longstanding friendly and partnership relations.

Since signing a strategic partnership agreement in 2014, RAU and SPbPU have been actively developing joint initiatives in the field of education, science and youth programs. During these ten years, the universities have organized many joint scientific research, conferences and educational projects that have facilitated the exchange of experience and knowledge between students and teachers.
It should be emphasized that the activities envisaged in the comprehensive Roadmap of cooperation between SPbPU and RAU cover a wide range of activities and many areas of interest for both educational institutions. Within the framework of this strategic partnership, projects are being implemented in such key areas as physics, telecommunications, biomedicine, bioinformatics, economics, PR and linguistics. Special attention is paid to the introduction of advanced methodologies and educational practices into the RAU curriculum.

For these reasons, the Polytechnic delegation in Yerevan was very impressive: Rector of SPbPU Andrei Rudskoi, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Dmitry Arseniev, Professor of the Institute of Biomedical Systems and Biotechnologies Olga Vlasova, Head of the Slavic Universities Project Office and Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department Nikita Golovin, Director of the Center for Continuing Professional Education of AIS CI and Program Director of «TBOIL co-working space — Polytech» Sergey Salkutsan, as well as a number of other leading experts.
The program of the visit began with a tour of the Russian-Armenian University campus. The Rector of SPbPU got acquainted with scientific and educational laboratories of the Institute of Biomedicine and Pharmacy, Engineering Physics Institute, Cast Laboratory of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, as well as modern socially oriented spaces.

One of the most striking joint activities, the results of which can already be observed, is the methodological support for the creation of the youth space «TBOIL co-working space» at RAU. The two universities actively developed the concept of this space, formulating tasks for the RAU development team. The logical conclusion of the year-long work was the grand opening of the «TBOIL co-working space — Polytech» representative office at RAU on October 24.

The tour was followed by a meeting with the RAU management and heads of RAU scientific groups implementing joint projects with SPbPU. The participants presented the results of current initiatives: four network educational programs were developed and implemented, participation in dissertation councils was organized, and more than forty joint scientific papers were published.

At the meeting, SPbPU Rector Andrei Rudskoi and RAU Rector Edward Sandoyan signed an updated agreement on strategic partnership between SPbPU and RAU, as well as a roadmap for the implementation of joint activities between SPbPU and RAU aimed at supporting youth initiatives and the development of student communities.

On the eve of the visit of the SPbPU delegation headed by Andrei Rudskoi, leading professors and experts from St. Petersburg held a number of events aimed at developing student communities at RAU. Pavel Kozlovsky, Deputy Director of the Digital Engineering Center of the Advanced Engineering School of SPbPU, Georgy Kvekveskiri, Deputy Head of the Youth Policy Department of SPbPU, Sergey Salkutsan, Director of the Center for Continuing Professional Education of AIS and Program Director of «TBOIL co-working space — Polytech» held a gas pedal, which was attended by more than 20 representatives of the RAU Student Council and such RAU associations as the Large Experimental Workshop, Intellectual Club, and Sports Community.

The last day of the gas pedal was dedicated to the formation of the image of communities for three years and the creation of a work program until the end of 2025 («Roadmap», which was signed by the rectors of the two universities). The Community Accelerator was the first event within the framework of the activities of the new youth space — the «TBOIL co-working space — Polytech» Representative Office in RAU.

Vladislav Tereshchenko, head of training simulators direction at the Center of APE of the Advanced Engineering School «Digital Engineering», conducted training events and competitions for RAU students on the simulator «Lean Production». Three winners received the right to perform at the Winter University of Engineering Sciences in SPbPU in November this year.

Leading SPbPU specialists organized lectures and seminars on physics, telecommunication technologies and biomedical systems at RAU.
Joint work between SPbPU and RAU continues to yield tangible results, strengthening educational and scientific ties between the two universities and making a significant contribution to the development of higher education in Russia and Armenia.
