SPbPU students won prizes at the international conference in Kazan
The Preparatory Department for Foreign Students of Kazan Federal University (KFU) hosted the 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference «Discovering the World of Science», which brought together young researchers from leading Russian universities: Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Tomsk and Perm Polytechnic Universities, Ivanovo State Medical University and KFU. Foreign participants of the preparatory departments of universities discussed the history of science, important scientific discoveries and achievements, as well as promising scientific trends in countries and regions of the world.

Polytechnic University was represented by pre-doctoral students of the Higher School of International Education Programs (HS IEP) from Pakistan — Zarak Ali Khan and Zaib Shah, who presented papers prepared under the guidance of Deputy Head of Research Darya Ignatyeva and Senior Lecturer Ksenia Moiseeva. Zarak Ali Khan presented a study «Comparative analysis of load flows for different power plant configurations in ETAP» dedicated to optimization of power systems, and Zaib Shah presented innovative solutions in the field of renewable energy in the report «Methods of maximum power point tracking in solar power systems».
At the end of the conference, the jury highly appreciated the scientific depth of the papers: Zaib Shah took the first place and Zarak Ali Khan took the third place, which gave both of them an opportunity to publish in the scientific journal of KFU.

The event became an important platform for the exchange of experience between young scientists and the identification of promising areas of research. The participants agreed to intensify inter-university cooperation in the fields of energy, engineering and medical technologies, to develop joint projects focused on sustainable development and «green» technologies, as well as to expand academic mobility programs.
Zarak Ali Khan emphasized that he was grateful to SPbPU and HS IEP for the opportunity to present his research in Kazan, calling the experience «unforgettable» due to the combination of professional growth and exposure to the city’s cultural heritage.
Zaib Shah, speaking about his impressions, compared Kazan to «a page from a fairy tale,» noting the beauty of the Kremlin, Lake Kaban, Bauman Street and local cuisine. The conference organizers noted the growing level of scientific works of foreign students and expressed confidence that the event will become a traditional launching pad for future discoveries.
The conference «Opening the World of Science» at KFU confirmed that international scientific dialog is not just an exchange of ideas, but a powerful impetus for real change.
