The graduation ceremony 2023 at SPbPU

7 July 2023 University life 422

For the second year, Polytechnic University has organized a large outdoor music festival for alumni. After all, the university campus is just made for it!

Graduation at Polytechnic University 2023

Two hours after the gold medalists were honored, the university-wide celebration «This. Summer. Summer.» Vladimir Glukhov, head of the rector’s administrative office, addressed the graduates: Friends! Polytechnic University does not say goodbye to you, it temporarily says «goodbye» to you. We hope that we will meet with you and that you will not forget this campus. The Polytechnic community has created a special environment within itself: all difficulties, all victories, all sorrows, all achievements, we are ready to share with each other. We solve the country’s toughest problems — now you do, too.

A pleasant surprise was the appearance on stage of Marina Krasnova, a graduate of the Institute of Physics and Mechanics of SPbPU and now the CEO of the social network VKontakte. When I graduated in applied mathematics from the Faculty of Physics and Mechanics, I realized that I was very lucky, because Polytech gives me a fundamental knowledge base and the broadest outlook, which allows me to solve unsolvable problems, said Marina Krasnova. Today I wish you to never be afraid to try new things, to look for yourself and your favorite business. Dream, keep your love of adventure, the ability to create despite all doubts. Anything is possible — I know that for sure.

The official part was over, hundreds of confederate caps flew into the air, and young people went to enjoy the precious moments of student life.

This year 6338 people received degrees of higher education at Polytechnic University. The peculiarity of the graduation was that not only those who completed their studies in 2023 were invited to it, but also graduates of previous years, who due to the pandemic could not properly celebrate such an important event in their lives.

Like last year, the crowd flocked to the sounds of jazz outside the first building. The Easy Winners jazz band was performing there again and it was hard to just listen, you wanted to move!

Among the graduates of the Class of 2023 is Al Hajj Bara Bibars, a photographer from the Polytechnic’s Public Relations Department, whose photos you can see in this article and in the photo gallery on the website. He graduated with a master’s degree from HI in International Advertising and Communications. Six years at Polytechnic University have been transformative, Bibars believes. Completing the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees is an incredible accomplishment. The challenging academic programs, dedicated faculty, and state-of-the-art classrooms have shaped my academic growth. Interacting with students has broadened my horizons, and collaborative projects have developed my teamwork and communication skills. Outside of the academic realm, I found a rich campus life that fostered leadership skills and social responsibility. I am grateful for the lasting friendships and invaluable experiences. Now, as I begin a new chapter of life, I carry with me pride and gratitude for the wonderful journey at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

Goodbye, Polytech!
See you later!

We congratulate all graduates on the successful graduation from Polytechnic University and wish that everything you have learned here will surely bear fruit and help you choose the right path in life.
