IMM&T presented unique innovative developments at the Army-2024 forum

The international military-technical forum «Army-2024» — the largest event in the field of innovations for the Russian defense industry complex — has recently ended in the Moscow region. The event raised the issues of development of military potential, technologies and modernization of the sphere.

Representatives of SPbPU took an active part in the work of the «Army», including employees of the research laboratory «Laser and Additive Technologies» of the Institute of Machinery, Materials and Transport.

At the Polytechnic University’s exhibition booth, the specialists of the Research and Development Institute demonstrated nozzle devices after repair by laser gas-powder cladding, working blades, welded joints formed by laser and hybrid laser-arc welding and many other things.

A unique exhibit was the mobile laser surfacing complex «Nomad». The robot is designed for laser cladding of products on the customer’s territory.

The Army-2024 military-technical forum became a platform for demonstrating the laboratory’s latest developments, concluding agreements and establishing cooperative arrangements with scientific units of other universities and business representatives.

During the events, the key problems of laser welding and additive technologies were discussed. Meetings with potential customers were held, we managed to discuss frontline industry tasks with our colleagues, summarized Mikhail Kuznetsov.
