A.Rudskoy thanked his colleagues from China for the high appreciation of the Polytechnic University performance and said that ratings, in his opinion, is not the most important thing. He said: “What matters is the professional and friendly relationships between the colleagues in the scientific and educational environment in which we live and work today". A.Rudskoy also told his colleagues that this April, Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University was the first among the Russian universities to open a representative office in China. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University also has a representative office in Shanghai. "Later, we plan to open one more office of Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University in Hong Kong and look forward to your support and close cooperation", - added A.Rudskoy.

Different fields of cooperation between the two universities were discussed very much in detail: the result of the meeting was the cooperation matrix, which includes joint professional seminars, student exchanges, invitation of foreign professors to read lectures in partner universities. SPbPU Rector A.Rudskoy invited the students of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to participate in the International Summer School, which will be organized at SPbPU in July-August this year. "Summer school is not only the educational process, but also the process of communication with the students from different countries. You will also see the beautiful sights of our city and get to know Russian cultural and educational environment", - the Rector said.

It was suggested by the representatives of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to run a semester exchange program for the graduate students of both universities from September this year. "We believe that the professors of our universities can start getting to know each other through their graduate students”, - said Professor Hau Chun Man, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. “We will launch this program, and later, the professors of our universities will meet personally, having already been introduced to their scientific interests", - Professor Hau Chun Man added.

At the end of the meeting Professor Alexander Wei, Vice-president of PolyU on Science, invited Rector of SPbPU A.Rudskoy and Vice-Rector for International Relations D.Arsenyev to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in November this year.
