This summer school is designed for the students of all majors arriving to the Fall semester exchange programs or English-taught degree programs who are willing to obtain or improve their practical Russian language skills, feel more comfortable, safe and independent in everyday situations. This intensive course focuses on speaking, so that by the end of the summer school the students could communicate with the native speakers and understand them better.

Thanks to the constant tutors support as well as social and cultural activities, the program also facilitates adapting to a new environment and coping with the cultural shock.

This summer school is open for the students of all levels of Russian language, including absolute beginners.

Program dates:

Arrival: August 01 – August 02, 2020
Classes: August 03 – August 28, 2020
Departure: according to your further study program terms

ECTS credits(total): 6.0

Courses:

Russian language: 4 ECTS (20 contact hours per week)

Levels available: A0-B2 The program is open for the students of all levels, including absolute beginners

The course is aimed at obtaining or improving the main communication skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. It helps to break the communication barrier and facilitates better understanding of the Russian language. The students are divided into small groups according to their levels.

Our goal is to make you use the Russian language in real life situations. Apart from the classroom study, each week we arrange speaking clubs and social activities helping you to start talking in Russian with confidence.

Optional minor elective courses:

If you are interested in broadening your horizons, you can also take the following elective courses conducted in English language. Those are not obligatory but provide a nice opportunity for earning extra credits:

  • History of the Russian Art: 1 ECTS
  • Politics of Modern Russia: 1 ECTS

Participation fee:

4 weeks - 600 Euro

Participation fee includes: tuition fee, cultural activities, field trips, study materials, visa support (Invitation letter issuance).

You can apply for this Summer School through your SPbPU Exchange Coordinator. When completing your Exchange semester application form please make sure you tick the corresponding box offering to take part in this summer school.

To make your experience as safe and rich in impressions as possible, our team of tutors will provide you with constant support and friendly assistance, be it airport pick-up or additional speaking practice or a company for exploring the most breathtaking places of St.Petersburg.

Accommodation

Our students are provided with accommodation in the University dormitories on campus. All dormitories are located in a walking distance from the University.
