Mikhail P. Fedorov is President of SPbPU, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honored Worker of Science and Technology in Russia, Professor. Mikhail P. Fedorov is an expert in the field of hydropower and integrated water resources management, the author of over 400 scientific papers, including 23 monographs, 22 textbooks and manuals, 12 inventions. Mikhail P. Fedorov is the winner of the RF Government award in the field of education, winner of St. Petersburg Government award in the field of engineering.

Mikhail P. Fedorov is President of the Russian scientific and technical society of power engineering and electrical engineering. He is an honorary doctor of the University of the City of London (England).
