Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) is an open international platform for science, education, and innovation. We invite partners from around the world to visit us to see our laboratories in person, discuss joint projects, and build long-term collaborations.

How to start?

Determine the purpose of your visit and contact the relevant International Services department:

  1. If the purpose of your visit is educational cooperation.
  2. Contact the Educational Programs Office:

    • Admission to the Polytechnic University;
    • Recruiting international applicants.

    • academic exchanges;

    • Working with foreign partners on contract and project activities;

    • Attracting external funding for scientific activities.

Preparing for the visit

To pre-arrange and organize your visit, please, send a letter to the selected SPbPU department, indicating the following information:

  1. What is the purpose of your visit and what topics do you plan to discuss?
  2. What are the planned dates of your visit?
  3. Who are the members of your delegation?
  4. Which SPbPU departments do you plan to visit?
  5. Do you need an official invitation from our university?
  6. Do you need an invitation for a visa?
  7. Who can we contact to discuss the details of your visit?
  8. Do you have any contacts at SPbPU with whom you have worked before?

After preliminary coordination of all organizational issues with the relevant department, we will need a letter with a request to organize a visit to our university on the agreed dates, signed by the head of your organization on official letterhead.

Please, pay attention to important points:

In accordance with current legislation and our university’s regulations, all visits are scheduled two months in advance to ensure all necessary procedures are completed.

To organize a coordinated visit, we will require scanned copies of the passports of all members of your delegation to process all necessary documents.

Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is a state educational institution, and our offices and departments are open in accordance with the operating hours of all government organizations:

Monday — Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

We are closed or working day can be reduced during major public holidays: from December 30 to January 10, February 23, March 8, and from May 1 to May 9.

The period from mid-July to the end of August is traditionally a vacation time for the faculty, and August is for the university administration and administrative staff.

For reference:

The SPbPU campus is located across four metro stations in the north of St. Petersburg. The main entrance is near the Politekhnicheskaya metro station.

The campus features historic buildings alongside state-of-the-art research laboratories and centers, as well as classrooms and conference halls. Our university is part of the vast cultural and historical heritage of St. Petersburg.
